I would love to do yoga but I can't. I'm not flexible. That is what I hear from so many people. I call it yoga envy. And I used to totally have it. I was never that flexible either. I'm still not. But that is exactly why I do Kaiut Yoga. Its yoga for the inflexible.
Kaiut Yoga isn't about twisting and contorting your body into extreme positions. Its simply about putting your body into very natural positions and just staying there. Yup, it actually takes no effort at all. Time and gravity (sometimes with the help of a sandbag or two) do all the work. Gradually over time blockages are released and your body is taught new habits and patterns.
The best way I can describe Kaiut Yoga is that its about returning our body structure back to how it used to be before injuries, accidents and lifestyle started messing with it. And the more we can keep our bodies in their intended form the less aches and pains we will have as we get older. The more mobile and flexible we will stay. Our quality of body, and thus quality of life will be enhanced.
Francisco will say actually that the people who are super flexible are the people most at risk of injury in yoga. The more flexible you are the more easily you will over extend your body and mess things up. A super flexible body won't send a signal to you that you have gone too far.
So to the super flexible, I say proceed with caution! :) To the inflexible I say go for it! This is your yoga. How ironic is that! See our Events section to find out more.
