The best Kaiut pose is the one when we get to lie on our backs with our legs up against a wall. Don't you agree? I mean all we have to do is lie there, that's it! Do nothing. If you're like me the rest of your day, every day, is so filled with doing something... constantly, that an opportunity to do nothing feels pretty darn good.
Well, the only problem with this pose is that your line of sight is your calves. And lying in this pose last night I looked up at my calves and to my surprise they were huge. Now my weight has gone up and down over the years, and while I'm not skinny currently I'm not overweight either. And my legs are typically immune to weigh gain anyway. As someone once said to me, 'I don't know how those skinny little legs hold up the rest of you'! But last night I noticed my calves were huge. And I remembered hearing that we carry our stress in our calves. And yup, I'm feeling quite a bit of stressed right now due to an overload at work. There is a plan, I am doubling my team but finding the right people takes time. So in the meantime... stress.
So thank you to last night. Thank you for the heads up that I am letting stress get to me. Thank you for the reminder to keep practicing yoga, even when I am crazy busy. Actually, especially when I am crazy busy. Yoga level sets stress. It keeps our senses from reacting to everything around us. It keeps our senses from reacting to ourselves. And it keeps my calves in check!
